Iron Pipe — How to Pick It Up and How It Behaves in Combat

The Iron Pipe is a melee weapon that has to be unlocked with a specific tool. Without that step the pipe cannot be picked up at all.

1. Find the Screwdriver on a box near the film reel viewing area.
2. Use the Screwdriver on the Iron Pipe in the bathroom to actually take the pipe.

Picking up the Iron Pipe this way earns the missable Classics Never Die achievement. If you grab the pipe without the Screwdriver, the achievement is gone for the run.

When held during the Fumus fight (2nd boss), the Pipe's melee swing registers as "holding a melee weapon", so stepping into a red circle deals self-harm. The recommended Fumus strategy is to unequip the Pipe and just run into the circles empty-handed. See Fumus fight for the full red-circle logic.

Defeating Fumus using only the Pipe earns the missable Exhaust Pipe achievement. This run invalidates the Wrench Queen run because it requires the Pipe for Fumus instead of the Wrench.
