Overview
Sanguis's beast form is the chase-sequence boss that follows the Tin Key section in the Desiderium dream layer. The arena has a giant knife planted in the floor — the encounter is built around it.
- Keep running to draw Sanguis's pounce.
- Bait Sanguis to leap directly over the giant knife — position yourself so his pounce arc passes over the planted blade.
- If the timing is right, Sanguis lands on the blade and is instantly killed.
The "over the blade" line is the cleanest option in every attempt — reposition around the planted knife rather than swinging at the boss.
Bad Puppy achievement
During the chase, bait Sanguis's attacks into the standing mannequins scattered around the arena until he breaks them. Don't kill Sanguis accidentally during this redirection — finishing him early with a stray hit invalidates the achievement.
This is missable: if you kill Sanguis before he breaks all the mannequins, Bad Puppy does not pop. Plan to redirect first, then bait him onto the giant knife.
The Tin Key section that unlocks this chase is on the full walkthrough; for environmental-kill combat rules in general, see combat strategy.
